Clara Hilda Eckert

Clara passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Woodingford Lodge on her late husband’s birthday, March 6, 2025. Her husband, Alvin Eckert, predeceased her on her birthday in 2008, after sharing more than 52 years together. Loving mother of Debbie Lee Goetz (Jerome), Beverly Eckert (Tim MacDonald), Melodie Eckert-MacDonald (Brent), Shelley Mattson and Sharey Eckert (Tim McKellar). Proud Grandma to Brandon (Beth), Mark, Derek, Tera (Jordan), Dena (Jon), Zachary, Rachel and Emely (Earnest), and Great-Grandma of Hayden, Hunter, Thea, Avery, Cohen and Kaycen. Clara is predeceased by her dear sons, Gregory and Jeffrey.

Clara was a friendly presence at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a spiritual person, and loved church. Musically gifted, she played several instruments and loved to sing. She would often attend multiple church services in a day to have the opportunity to enjoy the music. She was a loving and devoted mother and she will be forever loved and missed.

Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 10am until 10:45am. Funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
