Charon Cecelia (Becker) Baker

February 14, 1947 — May 2, 2024

Charon Cecelia Baker, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, at the Woodstock Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on Valentine's Day in 1947, in the quaint town of Stratford, Charon's life was a testament to love in all its forms. Charon was the beloved wife of Walter “Butch” Baker, her devoted partner for 57 remarkable years. She was the loving mother of Tamara (Warren) Baker-Burgin, Tracy (Michael) Collins, and Todd (Crystal) Baker. Her role as a mother was one, she cherished deeply, guiding her children with a gentle hand and a kind heart. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Courtney (Nedžad) Alibegić Tyler (Brianne) Collins, Calley White, Patrick Collins, Cassidey Baker, and Brady Collins, who will forever remember her as a cherished grandmother. Charon's legacy continued with her great-grandchildren, Kaedan, Landen, Malik, and Emmet, who brought her immense pride and joy. Charon's siblings, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her dog Bear, will lovingly remember her. She was predeceased by her parents, who instilled in her the values of love and kindness that she carried throughout her life. A woman of many interests, Charon was particularly known for her love of Bingo and Hockey. They were more than just games for her; it was a weekly ritual where she shared laughs and good times with friends. In keeping with Charon’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
