Charles Lester Bates

BATES - Peacefully, after complications with his Parkinson's and Pneumonia, at LHSC (University Campus) with his family at his side on Saturday March 10th 2012. Charles "Charlie" " Chuck" L. Bates of Woodstock in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Winnifred "Wendy" C. Bates (nee Bale)(2004). Dear father of Bev (Gerry) Arsenault, Clarence Bates, Chuck Bates, Randy Bates, Vicky (John) Case, Tami (Dean) Bates. Loved Grandpa of 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Gerry, Fred and Murray Bates. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Marion Bates, two sisters and six brothers. "Shorty" was employed with Oakwood Transport (formerly Gledhill Equipment) as a driver and mechanic for over 14 years. His laugh, his smile, and the twinkle in his eyes will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends may call at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Wednesday March 14th 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday March 15th 2012 at 11:00 am.
