Chalmers "Ray" Rogers

October 26, 1932 — November 3, 2020

Rogers, Ray – Suddenly on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, Chalmers Ray Rogers, formerly of Willow Lake Park, passed away at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Woodstock, Ontario.  Ray was born Wednesday, October 26th, 1932 and had just celebrated his 88th birthday.  He was a longtime employee of Union Gas.  He served in the Canadian Navy from January 1st, 1955 to November 1959 where he received his Naval Aircraft Maintenance Certificate on January 25, 1957.  He served on both the HMCS Magnificent and the HMCS Bonaventure Aircraft Carriers. Ray is predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Brooker, his parents Norman and Minnie Shelton and his brothers Gerald and Howard.  He is survived by his children, Nancy (Rick) Christian of London, Kim Rogers (late Jim Longlade) of  Thamesford, Lorraine Maessen (Gerald) of Ingersoll, Beverly Taylor of Woodstock and Gail (Glen) Tabor of Putnam, his stepchildren Randy (Brenda) Murray of Woodstock and Jim Murray of Abbottsford, British Columbia.  He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He leaves behind two loving sisters, Carol Pye of Otterville and Ruth (Bill) Beattie of North Bay as well as four very special friends, Wayne Player of London, Jim and Nancy Rogers and Heather Patterson all of Hamilton.  Cremation has taken place.  If desired, memorial contribution to the Diabetes Canada or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004).  Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and view at www.brockandvisser.com
