Catherine "Cathy" Sheridan, a beacon of love and family devotion, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, surrounded by family on January 4, 2024, at the age of 63. Cathy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the simple joys of family life. Born in Haileybury, Cathy’s radiant smile and warm heart drew people to her, and this was how she met her husband and best friend, Mike. Together, they embarked on a life filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect, creating a home where everyone was welcome.
A proud and loving mother, Cathy's legacy is beautifully reflected in her children: Tricia McPherson (Jason), Stanley Anstee, Nick Sheridan (Sam), Shannon McQuay (Dave), Greg Sheridan (Jess), and Geoff Sheridan (Emma). She instilled in them the importance of kindness, perseverance, and the value of family bonds. Her role as a stay-at-home mom and grandma was one she embraced with every fiber of her being, considering it her most significant and rewarding life's work.
Cathy's love multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild. She became Grandma to Summer, Victoria, Hannah, Grace, Kayden, Aaralyn, Easton, Natalie, Joshua, Aurora, Emmett, Geordan, Logan, Alexis and Karlee-Ann. Each child was a precious gift to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. The joy of her family grew even more with the birth of her great-granddaughter, Ella-Grace, who brought a new sparkle to Cathy's eye.
She is also fondly remembered by her large extended family. Cathy's presence was a comforting constant at family gatherings, where her laughter and stories will be dearly missed.
Cathy's interests were deeply rooted in the well-being and happiness of her family. She found her greatest pleasure in the simple moments: a shared meal, a game played with her grandchildren, or a quiet evening with Mike. Her life was a living example of selfless love and the profound impact it can have on those around her.
Friends are invited to join Cathy’s family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 13 from 1-4pm at the Beachville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 495, 39 Zorra Line, Beachville.
