Carol Louise Orchard (McLennan), born on July 27, 1934, in London Ontario, has passed away on March 18, 2025, at McGarrell Place. She leaves behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and a captivating spirit that touched the lives of those around her.
Carol dedicated many years of her life to her career, working at Somerville Industries and the Tea Room in Thorndale. Her culinary talents were unmatched, particularly her special recipes that delighted family and friends. Many will fondly remember her famous chocolate swirl cheesecake, which became a favorite among all who had the pleasure of enjoying it.
Those who knew Carol cherished her witty personality and her ability to speak her mind. Her honesty was an admirable characteristic, and her sense of humor often brought smiles and laughter to those fortunate enough to be in her company. She was an avid euchre player, taking every opportunity to engage in the game. Her competitive spirit shone through in every match, and she often joked about the possibility of her opponents cheating when she found herself on the losing end.
Carol is survived by her son, Brad Orchard, (Denise). Her daughter, Susan Stuber, (Fred) and son -in-law Derek Guy, She had the joy of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her dear friend, Cheryl Miller, was a steadfast presence in her life at McGarrell Place visiting weekly and sharing countless games of euchre. Carol cherished these moments and the joy that Cheryl brought with her visits.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at McGarrell Place for their compassionate care and support during her time there, especially to Dr. Lo, Thomas, Ashley, and Lavine for their dedication and kindness.
Carol is predeceased by her husband, Clare Orchard, and her daughter, Debbie Guy. Their memories will forever be held dear by all who knew and loved them.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories that reflect the warmth and joy she brought into the lives of many.
