HOOPER, Carol - On Sunday, October 7th, 2012, Carol Hooper of Woodstock passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness. Devoted wife and friend of John "Jack" Hooper for over 50 years. Survived by her children Diane Roberts (Mary-Anne), Christopher (Jackie) and Paul (Caitlin). Treasured grandmother of Lindsay, Madeleine, William, Simon, Sydney, Spencer, Elliott and Frances, and great grandmother of Nolan and Eva . Predeceased by her son Mark, parents J.W. and Anna (nee Churchill) Shane, and brother John Shane of Smiths Falls. As a long time resident of Woodstock, Carol was active in her church- College Avenue United, enjoying the choir. She delighted in her volunteering with Girl Guides and Cub Scouts. She was an avid member of; and travelled with the Woodstock Choralaires. As well, she volunteered as palliative support for many years at the Woodstock Hospital. Carol's was a life full of love. Love of family and friends, of serving, faith, and of music and laughter. Love lives on. A memorial service will be held at College Avenue United Church, 22 Wilson Street Woodstock, on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 11:00am, followed by a light reception. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment being held at a later date.
