Carl Richard Orlando Payne

PAYNE, Carl Richard Orlando - Aged 76 years and 5 days, in hospital at 2:30 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2007. He leaves his wife Mary (nee Schell) to whom he had been married for 52 years, and two daughters June Flath (Gregory) and Nancy, and two grandchildren Jessica and Otto Flath, sisters Agnes Moore, Marjorie Bailey, Elva Smith (Clare) and Dorothy Pearn. Predeceased by his parents David and Eliza Payne and Elva Payne, his sister Eleanor Dietrich and brothers-in-law Norman Dietrich, Fred Moore, Eric Bailey, and Charles Pearn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Carl was born near Kingsville, Ont., later moving to the Eastwood area where he farmed for many years. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Saturday, January 5, 2008 after 10:30 am where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am with Rev. Russell Rogers officiating. Charitable gifts to London Health Sciences Centre in Carl's memory would be appreciated. We thank the I.C.U. nurses and doctors at the Woodstock General Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of Carl after his heart attack. It was a comfort to him and his family.
