After leaving the family farm, Bruce started working for New Holland Farm Machinery in
1952. His job as a service technician included travelling to various dealerships and farms around Eastern and Southern Ontario fixing farm equipment. He often went to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to share his knowledge with other service technicians. After his retirement he worked for Tavistock Farm Equipment, where he enjoyed many years sharing his knowledge with the 'younger' technicians.
Bruce was an active member of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, where he filled many various roles throughout the years. He spent many years travelling to Camp Oneida helping to get the camp ready each year for the incoming summer campers.
Bruce loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. He enjoyed many reunions, and holiday dinners over the years. He cherished the visits with his grandchildren who gave him the opportunity to visit such wonderful places as Marineland, the Butterfly Conservatory, and Niagara Falls.
Special thanks to the staff at Tavistock People Care for the wonderful care provided to Bruce in his last years. You truly are angels!
