Brian Francis McCann, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at home in Blenheim, Ontario on April 2, 2024, at the age of 64. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Brian was a man of Scottish descent whose life journey brought him back to Canada on his own, after spending his childhood years in Scotland. He was a beacon of love and strength for his family and all who knew him.
Brian was the beloved husband and partner of Wendy for 23 years. Survived by Wendy's daughters, Sarah (Bridget), Samantha (Tyler) and their children Jackson and Jett, and Stephanie (Austin). Father of Sean McCann and Kenneth McCann, and his daughter Jaidyn.
Son of Kathleen Christine McCann (nee Duffy) and the late John Patrick McCann, Brian's roots were firmly planted in family tradition. Beloved brother to Margaret Robertson (Stuart), Maureen Keiller, Michael McCann, and Helen Crossan (Dave). His nieces, Amy and Kirsty Robertson, and nephews, Gary and Jack Crossan, will hold onto the fond memories they shared with their uncle.
Brian's career spanned 34 years with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, where he was respected for his dedication and integrity. His recent retirement was a testament to his hard work and commitment to public service. In his retirement, Brian ran a "small" business, Princess Poop Dog Waste Pickup and Lawncare, which quickly grew to service many customers all over Southwestern Ontario
An avid football fan, Brian's passion for the Glasgow Celtic was well-known among his friends and family. His generosity, kindness, and humor were the hallmarks of his character. Brian was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need, and his presence guaranteed a good time. His friends, especially Jane and Tom, and Helen and Frank, with whom he and Wendy formed the "3 Amigos” and the “Golden Girls” will miss the joy and camaraderie he brought into their lives.
Brian's memory will also be cherished by his fur companions, Bentley and Charlie, who were a source of comfort and joy throughout his life.
Friends will be received on Friday, April 12 from 11am- 1pm at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, Ontario. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 1pm. For those unable to attend, the service will be available via livestream on the funeral home website. For those who wish, donations in memory of Brian may be made to the Canadian Centre for Men and Families.
