BURNS - Suddenly at the Woodstock General Hospital on Friday, March 6, 2009, Robert Howard Joseph Burns of Woodstock in his 55th year. Beloved father of Andrea and Carly of Hamilton. Dear son of Betty Burns (nee Sullivan) and the late Howard Burns (1993) of Woodstock. Loved brother of Rita Henry (Bud) of Woodstock, Pat Burns (Denise) of Richmond Hill, Mary Glaab (Rick), Howard Burns (Wendy), and Stephen Burns (Shannon) all of Woodstock, and Cathy Burns (Garry) of London. Dear nephew of Bill Burns, Marie MacDonald, Jack Burns (Peggy), and Russell Sullivan (Mary). His prized daughters meant the world to him, as did his many nieces and nephews. A welcoming host, Bob leaves a legacy of laughter and joy. Predeceased by his sister Colleen Jackson (2005) and infant brother Gerard Burns (1960). Bob worked for many years in sales, including managing flooring stores in Edmonton and Hamilton. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004), on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 11:00 am with Father Richard Dales officiating. Interment later in St. Mary's Cemetery.
