"Bill" William Grant Ellis

December 31, 1927 — October 4, 2020

ELLIS, "Bill" William Grant  – Passed peacefully on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock. Bill was in his 93rd year. Loving husband of the late Ruth Ellis (Nichols) (2017). Cherished father to Marilyn Ellis (Ivan) Romanow, Debra (Michael) LeClair, James (Carol) Ellis and Susan Ellis (Francois Bourgeois). Proud grandfather of Lara (Rory), Ilana (John Paul), Heather, Hayley and Kevin. Beloved great grandfather to Heidi, Zoe, Elise and Lena also many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill is predeceased by his brothers Robert, Ross and sister Joan. Bill was a long time resident of Woodstock and was the founder of Ellis Glass. He was also a long time member of the Woodstock Curling Club, Woodstock Coin Club and also St. David’s United Church. Bill and Ruth enjoyed many summers holidaying at their cottage in Kincardine Ontario. The family would like thank the staff at both Oxford Gardens and Woodingford Lodge for their excellent care of dad. A public visitation will be taking place Wednesday, October 7th, 2020, from 10am to 12PM at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock. Everyone is welcome to come, however all guests will be required to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing while inside the funeral home. A private family service will take place later. If desired, memorial contributions to St. David’s Church, the Alzheimer Society of Oxford or Woodingford Lodge would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
