SUTHERLAND - At his residence on Friday January 29, 2010. William "Bill" M. Sutherland of Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll and formerly of Embro in his 89th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Jessie Elizabeth (nee Muir) Sutherland (1993). Beloved father of Robert and his wife Daye and Donald and his partner Helen Nairn. Bill will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Ian Sutherland, Jill and Lee Whetstone and Cheri Sutherland and by his brother-in-law Al Berst. Predeceased by his brother Robert and sisters Margaret Ormesher and Janet Munro. Bill had a full life being involved in the Embro community through the Caledonia Society, Thistle Masonic Lodge, # 250, Embro Zorra Agricultural Society, Past Reeve of West Zorra Township (1962 - 1964), Oxford County Warden (1964), Western General Insurance and the Woodstock General Hospital. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday February 2, 2010 after 10:00 am where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in the North Embro Cemetery. Contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Woodstock General Hospital would be appreciated.
