Betty Gene McIver, born Dec. 27,1931, passed away on March 11, 2021 in her 90th year with her family at her side. Betty is predeceased by her husband Milton McIver (2018). Betty was born to John Stanley Post and Gertrude Imogene (Nettleton) Post in West Oxford Township. She will be greatly missed by their 7 children: Sandra McIver, Sharon (Bob) Smith, John (Nancy) McIver, Julie (Mark) Byers, Ric (Christine) McIver, Rob (Deb) McIver, and Dawn (Paul) Brokers. 15 grandchildren: Matt (Gina), Kim (Gord), Jenn (Jason), Lisa, Nathan (Jemmarie), Justin (Kelly), Bradley, Laurel (Petr), Tiar, Colemann, Mikel, Katie (Pat), Ben (Eleni), Hillary (Jarrett), and Craig (Alexandria). 19 great grandchildren: Mateo & Myles, Samantha & Sydney, Oliver, Jessica & Alec, Justin, Leon & Cadence, Mason & Audrey, Quinn & Zander, Benjamin, Slade & Ronin, and Harper & Mateo. 1 great great grandchild Freyja. Betty enjoyed living life to the fullest. Some interests were Sweet Adelines, golfing, bowling, swimming, and lawn bowling where Betty & her team won the provincial championships and travelled to Calgary Alberta to compete in the National Championships. Betty and Milt loved to travel the world together with some highlights being Australia, New Zealand, China, all of Europe, cruising the Rhine & the Danube, Alaska, Iceland as well as managing to vacation in every province in Canada! Betty & Milt were extremely generous and welcoming, always opening up their home to spend time with family and friends. Betty’s family would like to thank Dr. Grayson and all the members of the palliative care team. Special thanks to the nurses and multiple staff members from Chartwell Oxford Gardens for their tremendous emotional support and various acts of kindness that were expressed and given throughout this difficult time.
