MASON, Betty June - Betty passed away peacefully Sunday morning (August 9th) at the Woodstock Hospital in her 88th year. She is greatly missed by her lifelong friend and husband Walter, her sons Michael (Kathy) Wiarton, Peter of Ottawa, and her daughter Janice Moran (Rick) of Grimsby. Also greatly missed by grandsons Jeffrey of Ottawa, Sean(Gillian) of Fonthill, Eric of Toronto and Joshua from Ottawa. Also step great grandson Alex of Fonthill. Betty was a very active church member of Jepson Street Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Fort William Baptist Church, Fort William (now Thunder Bay), Lorne Park Baptist Church, Mississauga, and for the last few years in retirement, Woodstock First Baptist Church. Betty was Office Administrator at Lorne Park Secondary School for 30 years and loved her job and the people that she worked with. Vacation time was spent with her husband and family camping and trailering. Betty made many long term friendships wherever she went. During retirement she and her husband Walter spent a number of winters in Florida and made many Canadian friendships which continued when back in Canada. The family is extremely grateful to Dr. Jeffery Nichols and the wonderful staff in the Critical Care Unit and Station A in the Palliative Care Unit of Woodstock Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) where a Celebration of Betty's Life will take place on Saturday, September 12th, 2015. If desired, memorial donations to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Von Sakura House, or the Woodstock Hospital can be made and arranged through the funeral home.
