GRANT - Surrounded by family and dear friends, slipped peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, at Woodstock Private Hospital on Saturday February 19, 2005. Bessie J. Grant (nee Bastedo) formerly of Curries and Sweaburg, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late John "Jack" S. Grant for over 40 years. Sadly missed by her dear sister Myrtle Marie Heximer (Orum) of Kitchener. Loved aunt of Paul Orum of Burbank, California, Louise Hill and Mary Beth Simms both of Kitchener, Brenda Beale and Phillip Bastedo both of Vancouver. Also survived by her dear friends the Humphreys family. Predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth Bastedo and brother Rev. Gordon Bastedo. Bessie was an active member of the Oxford Centre Seniors Club, a chartered member of the Berean Bible Church and Missions Committee and played an active role in the Sunday School Primary Department. Bessie lived most of her life in West Oxford, later went to live with the Humphreys family near Durham, and lastly returned to care facilities in Woodstock. Thank you to all who tenderly cared for her and those dear friends who faithfully visited over the years. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Friday 2:30-4:30 and 7-9 pm. The complete funeral service will be held from the Berean Bible Church, 1140 Nellis St., Woodstock on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Glenn Rider and Hugh Close officiating.
