BLAIR, Bertrand "Bert"- Peacefully at Sakura House on Friday September 9, 2011. Bertrand "Bert" J. E. Blair of Mohawk St. Woodstock in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Donna Blair for over 67 years. Dear father of Mary Roy of Toronto , Jane (Bill) Paquette of Woodstock and Dorothy (John) Fontaine of Bluemont, Virginia . Loved grandfather of David ( Lena ) and Michael (Stephanie) Roy, Jason (Jennifer) and Daniel (Katharine) Paquette, and Ian Fontaine and great grandfather of five. Dear brother of Joy Keele of San Francisco and Donald Blair of Houston . Predeceased by his granddaughter Jessica Roy and by siblings Dorothy Parker, Bill Blair and Helen Morris. Bert was proud to have been a driving force instituting the Woodstock Bus Services in 1961, alderman for the city of Woodstock and chairman of the Woodstock Board of Education over an 18 year period, member of King Solomon's Masonic Lodge Woodstock as well as a Shriner of the Mocha Temple in Houston , Texas . Bert loved Woodstock and its history and would willingly relate stories of early families, companies and historic buildings any time he was asked. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
