West, Bernard Lloyd "Bernie" - With heavy hearts, our family announces the loss of our loving husband, father and grandfather. Bernie passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Woodstock Hospital early Sunday morning, July 22, 2018 in his 78th year. Loving husband of Carol (nee Pearson). Dear father of Greg (Bonnie) West, Cairn Rudy and Pam (Brian) VanHooydonk. Proud grandfather of Dylan, Addison (Corey), Hanna (Michael), Owen, Grace and Kaitlin. Cherished brother of James and Ed West. Predeceased by his brothers Sherman and Bill. Bernie was a long-time member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. He has shared many memories with both his "summer friends" and "winter friends" and he always cherished the time spent at Harmony Woods Campground. He was an avid supporter of all his grandchildren's activities and he was their number one fan. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family on Wednesday July 25th from 2-4pm and again from 6-8pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004). A Funeral Service will be held the following day, Thursday July 26th, in the funeral home chapel at 11am. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation or Harmonize for Speech would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home.
