GROVES - With courage and dignity, after a short battle with acute myeloid leukemia on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at LHSC - Victoria Campus. Bernadine "Erna" Groves (nee Sturris) of Woodstock in her 60th year. Beloved wife of Gerald "Jerry" Groves. Dear mother of Jeannie (Jason) Lavin and Susan (Paul) Giles. Loved grandmother of six grandchildren. Dear sister of Ann (Steve) Engardt and John (Rita) Sturris and sister-in-law of Sharon (Dave) Oliphant and Trudy (Rene) Pommerleau. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Jean Sturris and Doris and Walter Groves. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 230-430 and 7-9 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Hillview Cemetery at a later date. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the LHSC - Critical Care Trauma Unit would be appreciated.
