Beatrice "Bea" May (Harrison) Lithgow

LITHGOW, Beatrice “Bea” May (nee Harrison) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur Earl Lithgow (2015). Loved mother of Cathy Kosmyna (Gene), Lorraine Nolan (John), Diane Cvetich (Joe) and Janet Smitjes (Brian). Cherished grandmother of Stephen Kosmyna (Tracey), Tanya Kosmyna (Mark Salemi); Alexandra Cvetich (Colin Druery), Madeleine Cvetich, Aidan Cvetich; Nathan Smitjes (Tayla), Derek Smitjes (Brooklynn Bentley); Madison Nolan (Alen Chen) and Katie Russell (Jesse). Proud great-grandmother of Harper and Lilah Smitjes. Dear sister to Joan Harrison. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Ethel Harrison.

Born in Woodstock Ontario and raised in Ridgetown and London, Bea entered London’s Victoria Hospital Nursing program graduating with her beloved fellow nursing graduates in 1957. After marrying Earl in 1959 and then juggling nursing while raising Cathy and Lorraine, Diane and Janet warranted her transition to full-time Mom. Once the kids were old enough and with her having a true love of reading, she started her second career of service as librarian applying her learned skills in both public and church libraries in St. Thomas, Stratford, Peterborough and Sebringville finally retiring from her long stint with the library at Huron Park Baptist Church in Woodstock.

Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock on Monday, July 4th, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a time of visitation. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Funeral Home.
