Barbara Joan (Gandy) Young

YOUNG -At the Woodstock General Hospital on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Barbara J. Young (nee Gandy) of Woodstock at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Errol "Red" Young (2001). Dear mother of Stephen and his wife Christine of Woodstock, Eric and his wife Lori of Kitchener, David and his wife Mary of Trenton, Taffy Weir and her husband Isaac of Braemar, Paul and his wife Annette of Mt. Elgin and Robert Wells of Baltimore. Loved grandmother of Tyler, Mallory, Amanda, Briony, Townshend, Jessy, Denny, Melanie, Stevie, Sarah, Maddie, Leah, Chloe, Sylvie, and great grandmother of Hannah and Liam. Dear sister of Douglas Gandy and his wife Christine and sister-in-law of Kitty Penny and her husband George. Predeceased by her son Michael Young. Barb was a longtime member of College Avenue Church Choir and the UCW. She was an active and proud supporter of both Woodstock Little Theatre and the Woodstock Rotary Festival of Music. A Memorial service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at College Avenue United Church, Woodstock on Sunday December 12th 2010 at 4:00 pm with Rev. David Duncan officiating. Cremation has taken place with interment later at the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
