LETNIOWSKI, Barbara Anne
We come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, Barbara Anne Letniowski, who left this world on the 10th of May, 2024, at the age of 90. Barbara, a cherished individual known for her unwavering spirit and infectious smile, was born on January 24, 1934, in Brandon, Manitoba, and passed away peacefully in Woodstock, Ontario.
The daughter of the late Marcella (Dronska) and Frank Toporowski, Barbara grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings Millie, Mary, Gladys, Angela, and Joe, and nephew Brian. It was in Toronto, Ontario, far from her birthplace, that she met the love of her life, Mike Letniowski, who was also born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. The two kindred spirits married on May 17, 1958, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Barbara's devotion to her family was paramount. She was a guiding light to her children Michael (Louise), Lori (Tony), Teresa (Tom), and Frank (Krys). Her love extended to her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild, each of whom she cherished deeply.
Professionally, Barbara dedicated many years to working in libraries in both Toronto and Woodstock. Her passion for literature was evident, as she found great joy in the world of mystery books. Barbara's interests and hobbies painted a picture of a woman who embraced the joy of living. She was an avid card player, enjoyed bingo, and loved participating in games that brought her together with friends and family. Her Wednesday afternoons were a source of great pleasure, from her Women's Social Group gatherings to her weekly hair appointments, these moments brightened her week.
Known for her strong will and the ability to make a lasting impression on everyone she met, Barbara's presence was a gift. She was always ready with a smile and kind words, spreading warmth and kindness wherever she went. Her love for all the family dogs was just another testament to her caring and loving nature.
Barbara's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and celebrations. Her commitment to her beliefs was unwavering, and it provided her with strength and solace throughout her journey. Barbara’s story is one of love, resilience, and the enduring power of the human spirit.
