Arthur James

JAMES, Arthur - Passed away peacefully on 3rd June 2018 at the age of 98. In cricketing terms, he had "a good innings". He would have loved to have made it to 100 and receive his letter from The Queen but that was not to be. His mind was strong until the end, but his body was not. Football's Aston Villa has lost a life-long supporter. He will be missed by his three loving children; Fiona (Wayne Collins), Michael (Terry Anguish) and Piers. Arthur will also be missed by his 6 grandchildren; Andrew, Emily, and Rhys Mason and, Stuart, Lauren and Miles James. His surviving brother Geoff in England will miss him dearly. Arthur was predeceased by his wife Margaret, sister Beryl and many friends both in Canada and the UK. Special thanks to those on 2nd floor at Caressant Care, in Woodstock, who cared for Arthur for the past few months and to those attending to his needs at Woodstock Hospital where he has recently been a frequent visitor. Also special thanks to regulars at the Charles Dickens Pub who recently gave him a great day out. Special thanks to Myra Richards and Brian Jones for arranging it. Thanks also to Dan and Sandy Coomber for being such wonderful neighbours and friends. Your compassion and thoughtfulness are truly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, if desired, Memorial Contributions to the Woodstock Hospital would be appreciated.
