JOHNSON, Arnold C. - At Woodstock General Hospital on Friday, January 28, 2011, Arnold C. Johnson of Woodstock in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Erna M. Johnson (nee Luescher). Dear father of Bonnie (John) Wilkins, Bill Johnson, and Karen Johnson all of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Cheryl, Jon (April) Wilkins, Elke (Brian) Giroux, Bill (Jessica) Hagen-Johnson, James (Melanie) Johnson, and Brandon Johnson and great grandfather of Broc, Nathan, Emma, Hilary, Adam, Mallory, and Nicolas. Dear brother-in-law of Lois Luescher. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his great grandson Jacob Hagen-Johnson, sister Bernice Orchard, brothers Douglas Johnson and Clayton Johnson, brother-in-law William Luescher, and great nephew Keith Luescher. Arnold was employed with Canada Post for 29 years, an avid fisherman and later became a dedicated golfer. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 Woodstock, a life member of the Oxford County Naval Veteran's Association, and served in the army reserves during WW II. Arnold was a ham radio operator for many years, had a pilots licence and owned a small plane which he flew often. He also dabbled as an artist, painting several pictures, most of them landscapes. He was also a hobby electrician and carpenter. Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance will be held by the family at a later date. Interment later in the Anglican Cemetery.
