LEEUWESTEIN - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Arie Leeuwestein of Woodstock in his 100th year. Beloved husband of the late Johanna Wilhelmina (Telindert) Leeuwestein (1982) and the late Johanna "Anna" (Toonk) Leeuwestein (2008). Dear father of Arie and his wife Miriam of RR# 1, Woodstock, Henk and his wife Marjorie of Brampton, Hans and his wife Patricia of Dorchester, Ben and his wife Ila of Sault Ste. Marie, step father of Gerald Toonk and his wife Wibbina of Exeter and father-in-law of Gene Jacques and partner Kathy Gionet of Rodney. Loved grandfather of twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Arie was the last surviving member of his own family. Predeceased by his step daughter Gert Toonk, granddaughter Beth Leeuwestein, grandson Laverne Leeuwestein and by several brothers and sisters. Arie was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, 170 Clarke St., Woodstock, on Friday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Case Koolhaas officiating. Interment in the Hillview Cemetery.
