Anthony Van Loon

VAN LOON, Anthony - Passed away at the London Health Sciences, Victoria Campus, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, December 13, 2015 in his 96th year. Anthony was the beloved husband of Maria for over 68 years, loving father to Leo (Norma), Henrica (Gerard), John (Karen), Joe, Tony (Wilma), Andy (Alice), Ken (Melissa), Cathy (Bill), and Jackie. Anthony will also be sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister-in-law Nelly. Predeceased by sons Jack and Paul both in 2012, grandson Wayne in 1997, and brothers Father Johannes, Hendrickes (Pauline), and Franz. Anthony and Maria immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1952 and farmed in Wellington and Middlesex counties for several decades. He had a great sense of humour which will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, December 16th, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford, ON. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 17th at 11:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 131 Thames St N., Ingersoll. Interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with reception to follow in the church hall. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
