Hardy, Annie - Peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 Annie Elizabeth Hardy (nee Longworth) in her 86th year. Beloved wife of John Douglas. Loved mother of Bill (Darlene) Hardy of Timmins, John Hardy of Timmins, and David (predeceased 1973). Dear sister of Archie (Anna) Longworth of Sweaburg, Patricia (Larry-predeceased) Provost of Roanoke, Texas, and James (predeceased in infancy). Also survived by grandchildren Laura Deforge, Lisa Bender, Michelle Hardy, Debbie Hardy, David Hardy and Johnathon Hardy. Great grandmother of Ashley, Mathieu, Bradley, Benjamin, Jonathan and special little Meghan. Predeceased by parents William F. Longworth (1965) and Addie Buchanan (1981). Annie served during WW II with W.R.E.N. She was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock. After retiring from Sears, Annie enjoyed traveling with her husband Doug, spending their winters in Dauphin Island, Alabama and summers in St. Williams, Ontario before moving back to Woodstock in 2004. Annie always had a cup of tea ready for visitors and especially enjoyed visits from her many nieces and nephews. She had a deep faith and church was an important part of her life. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM at St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Ave. N. Woodstock. Interment later in Oxford Memorial Cemetery following cremation.
