Andy Poortinga

POORTINGA, Andy – Passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24th, 2022, at the Woodstock Hospital. Andy was in his 96th year. Much loved husband of Rose Poortinga for over 70 years. Beloved father of Diane Bender (Greg Miskow), Peter (Sandra) Poortinga, and daughter’s-in-law Charlene Poortinga and Carolin Poortinga. Andy is predeceased by his son’s Larry (2021), Calvin (2012) and Randy (2005). Andy was a proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 15, along with many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Friday, October 28th, 2022, from 2:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. also on Saturday at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Lansdowne Ave, Woodstock from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm where the service will be held at 1:00 pm. There will be a private family interment after the service. The family would like to thank Dr. Vu and the staff at the Woodstock Hospital for the excellent care Andy received. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged and may be arranged through the Funeral Home.
