WALO, Andrew J., Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Sakura House, Woodstock, Ont. on Jan 11, 2016, at 63 years of age. Dearest friend of Kathy Campbell of Woodstock. Loving father to Anthony of Cambridge, Adam (Meagan) of Calgary, and cherished " dad" to Kaleigh Campbell of Woodstock. Beloved Grandpa to Anna, Jacob, and Jaxon Walo of Calgary. Dear son of Genowefa and the late Antoni Walo (June 2005), and brother to Paul (Debbie) of LaSalle, Tony of St. Clair Beach, and predeceased by baby sister Elzbieta. Will always be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew; Andrea, Stephanie, and Eric Walo and by his Cousins; Karl(Carol), Andi, Mark Krukowski, and many relatives remaining in Poland. Andrew was born in 1952 in Rzeniszow, Poland. In 1960, Andrew, with Mama, Tata, and brother Paul, made a big decision to move to Canada to begin a new life here. He was a motivated young man, with an aptitude for engineering and mechanics, one of his favorite reading materials being Popular Mechanics. He always amazed the family with his many hand built projects, and loved to fly his gas powered model airplanes that he made at home. Andrew graduated from Mechanical Engineering at University of Waterloo in 1977. He began his career immediately in Sarnia working for Fiberglas Canada, until 1991. Soon after, to Navistar International in Chatham, then finally his last 20 years at GM CAMI Assembly in Ingersoll, where he was Production Engineer. In all of his positions, he gave 110 % effort, and was always dedicated to making sure the plants were running as smoothly and efficiently as they could. In addition to Andrew's dedication and success as an engineer, he was an avid bicyclist who enjoyed rides through trails in various cities in Ontario and the U.S. Also, in the last 10 years, he explored many diverse cultural and dining experiences, while on Cruise vacations to the Mediterranean, Carribean, Alaska, and Eastern U.S. with family. He handled his last few weeks with bravery and calmness, making sure we were all as comfortable with his passing as he was. A sincere Thank You to the wonderful staff at Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock for their compassionate treatment and dedication in making Andrew's final days comfortable and peaceful.
