Mackay - At his residence on Monday July 30, 2007. Andrew Murray Mackay of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock and formerly of Golspie in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys M. (nee Chapple) Mackay (1996). Dear father of Lawrence and his wife Donna, Ian and his wife Linda, Barry and his wife Jill, Alan and his wife Kelly all of Woodstock, Margaret Mackay of Manitoba, Avery of Surrey, B.C. and David and his wife Cathleen of New Durham. Loved grandfather of twenty five grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and survived by his sister-in-law Marie Lung of Brandon, Manitoba. Predeceased by his son Murray (1979), by his sisters Cora Ross (1968), Nora Smith (1977), Janet Rutledge (1986), Kathleen Mackay (1998), Isabelle Glassford (2000), Margaret Merklinger (2000), brother Alexander McKay (1989) and by his daughter-in-law Brenda Lee Mackay (2006). Andrew received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal during WW II with the R.C.A.F. at the rank of L.A.C. He was the last surviving member of his own family. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday August 2, 2007 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Keith Sutherland officiating. Interment in the Old Log Church Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodingford Lodge Auxiliary or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
