Alva Irene (Rudy) Gloin

GLOIN, Alva Irene- Passed away peacefully at Cambridge County Manor on Saturday March 25th 2023.  Alva Gloin (nee Rudy) formerly of Woodstock in her 94rd year.  Beloved wife of Edward “Ed” Gloin.  Loved mother of Rob (Joan) Gloin and Bradley (Diane) Gloin. Cherished grandmother of Lesley (Dave), Nikki (Jeremy), Stephanie (Matthew), and Alexander (Miranda), and great grandmother of Katelyn, Lexie, Carter, Natalie, Jack and Ava. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Ruby and brothers Robert and Glenn Rudy.  Alva was a registered nurse having graduated from  Woodstock General Hospital, Class of 1952.  She was a member of the Woodstock " Y Promenaders"  Square Dancers and  St. David’s United Church Women.  She loved spending summers camping with her family at Sauble Beach.  She was an exceptional cook and loved quilting, especially for family members.  Friends may call at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Saturday April  8th  2023 from 9:30 am – 10 am .   The funeral service will follow in the chapel Saturday at 10:00 am.  Interment in Presbyterian Cemetery.  If desired, contributions to the Cancer Society and / or Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
