Allan James "Al" Shipp

SHIPP, Allan James - Peacefully at his residence on Monday March 19th 2012. Al Shipp of Woodstock in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Julie Lorene (nee Hanmer) Shipp for over 38 years. Dear father of Cody and his wife Stacey of Kitchener, Tyler and his wife Julianne of Waterloo Region and Brooke Allen and her husband Brent of London. Loved grandfather of Sydney, Kennedy, Victoria, Chase and Hunter. Dear brother of Glen (Suzanne), Joanne Downham (Les), Bill (Cindy) and brother-in-law to Darryl (Patti) Hanmer and survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Elizabeth (nee Brown) Shipp. Al was Past President of the Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Club and Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. A former member of the Woodstock General Hospital Building Fund, and a past scout leader for many years. He was a member of the Victoria Club, plant manager for Cornell Welding and Fabricating Ltd, and an active member of the Woodstock Bocce Club. Al especially loved spending time with his cherished children and grandchildren, enjoyed motorcycling, time at the cottage and woodworking. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday March 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Don Moore officiating. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to the Parkinson Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
