McMILLAN, Allan Burns - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday February 1, 2011. Allan B. McMillan of Woodstock in his 91st year. Beloved husband of D. Mary (nee Simkin) McMillan for over 66 years. Dear father of Barbara Workman (Rod) of RR# 4, Woodstock, Dan (Sharon) of Ilderton, Ben (Shirley) of RR# 3, Woodstock, Brenda Eagle (Jim) of Waterloo and Susan Young (Alan) of South Dakota. Loved grandfather of ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty MacKinnon, Doris McMillan and brother-in-law of Alvin Littlejohns, Isabel McMillan and Jean Simkin. Predeceased by his brothers Robert and Gordon, brothers-in-law Mac MacKinnon, George Simkin and sister-in-law Florence Littlejohns. Allan was a longtime member of Dundas St. United Church, drove transport for Overland Express for 45 years and enjoyed a hobby of restoring antique tractors and lawnmowers. Allan was a world traveller. He and Mary had visited nearly all the continents of the world. Finally, Allan and whoever thought they could beat him, would partake in a friendly game of billiards whenever possible. Friends will be received for a time of visitation at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday February 4, 2011 from 3 - 5 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bonnie Pilkey officiating. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
