BENSON- At Woodstock General Hospital on Thursday May 29, 2003. Allan E. Benson of Robinson St. Woodstock in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Betty M. Benson (nee Phelps) for 52 years. Dear father of Colleen Chambers and her husband Scott and their son Cameron all of London. Predeceased by his brother Joshua Benson and sisters Florence Shaver and Margaret VanBrenk. Allan was a member of the South Gate Seniors Centre, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 Woodstock having served in the Elgin Regiment during WW II. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (539-0004) Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel Saturday at 1:30 pm. Interment Hillview Cemetery. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Children's Hospital Foundation of Western Ontario would be appreciated.
