LESLIE, Alistair “Al” John, Passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Marion (nee Case) Leslie for over 66 years. Cherished father of Cheryl (Dino) Micacchi, Janice (Jeff) Leach, Catherine (Doug) Robb, and Steven (Robyn) Leslie. Loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Graham Lloyd. Predeceased by his sisters; Kathleen (George) Start, Muriel (Phil) Walton, Edith (Ivan) Nero, Audrey Lloyd, and by his brother Kenneth (Dorothy) Leslie. Al was previously employed as Service Manager for King Seagrave for over 35 years before starting his own business, Leslie Fire Truck Service. He was a long-time member of The Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock, and the Navy Club. Al could be known to fix anything. When he was presented with something that was broken, he rarely called in the professionals. He also loved the outdoors, enjoying camping and the “boys of summer”, his beloved Blue Jays. Al’s deepest passion was family. Whether it be Christmas or any other reason to gather as a family, it was important to Al that the everyone be together whenever it was possible. A private service will be held by the family. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Open House will take place on Saturday August 14, 2021 from 1–4pm at 92 Oakridge Ave., Innerkip. If desired, memorial contributions to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the Brock Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519-539-0004). Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.brockandvisser.com
Al’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jeff Nichols, Dr. Sondhi, St. Elizabeth Health Care, the Palliative Medical Emergency Team, Oxford Gardens and Sakura House for their excellent care. Your support will never be forgotten.
