HAZELEGER, Alice - At Caressant Care surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday December 29th, 2012. Alice Hazeleger (nee Van Egdom) of Woodstock and formerly of Embro in her 83rd year. Cherished wife of Gerrit Hazeleger for 56 years. Much loved mother of John, and Hank (Nancy-Lee) of Embro, Deb (Scott) Walker of Guelph, Annette (Tom) McLeod of Kintore, Nancy (Tim) Nugent of California and Cindy (Kevin) Dochstader of Guelph. Dear mother-in-law of Nancy Hazeleger. Cherished grandmother of Natalie (Darryl), Allison, Madeline (Josh), and Mark (Jenn); Darren (Kendra), Gary, Marty, and Claire; Cody, Tyson, Alycia, and Justin; Mac, Grace, and Noah; Maya, and Heather; Trae, and Aaron. Survived by her brother Bill (Wilma) Van Egdom of Otterville and sister-in-law Tony Van Egdom of Ingersoll. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and her special friends and relatives in Holland. Predeceased by an infant daughter in 1961; her brother Hendrik "Henk" Van Edgom, and by her parents Hendrik and Anneke (nee Van Santen) Van Egdom. Alice was a dedicated dairy farmer in Embro for 47 years and a long time member of Knox United Church UCW. Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. The complete funeral service will be held at Knox United Church, 116 Kincardine St., Embro on Thursday January 3, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Judy Campbell officiating. Interment later in the North Embro Cemetery.
