CHRISTIAN, Alfred William - At Sakura House, Woodstock on Wednesday July 13, 2011. Alfred William Christian of Woodstock in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Elva E. (nee Potter) Christian for nearly 69 years. Loved father of the late Bonnie Cook (2004). Dear father-in-law of John Cook (Mildred Gremonprez) of St. Thomas, loved grandfather to Christi-Anne Dlouhy (Dennis) of St. Thomas, Scott Cook (Alison) of Bathurst, NB and cherished great grandfather of Emilie and Liam. Dear brother-in-law of Reta Christian of Woodstock and Lloyd Potter of Burford. Predeceased by his brothers Leroy (Doreen) and Glenn and by his sister-in-law Joy Potter. Alfred was a past employee of Hydrotile and MTO Manufacturing for many years. A veteran of WW II serving in the R.C.E.M.E, he retired in 2009 after 70 years of employment. Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (formerly Longworth's), 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday July 15, 2011 from 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
