Albert Arthur (Bert) Murray

MURRAY-At his home, Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock on Tuesday August 9, 2005. Albert (Bert) Arthur Murray in his 100th year. He was born in Toronto, the eldest son of the late Arthur and Ethel Murray and was the last surviving member of his family. He was the cherished husband of Viola (Malcolm) Murray (1998); beloved and loving father of Marg and Wayne Boddy; a special grandpa to Greg and Karen and to Bryan and Monique; a proud great grandpa to Bryson and Jayden. Bert lived most of his life in the Woodstock area and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church. His late father and mother, Arthur and Ethel started the Woodstock Canadian Tire franchise in 1934 where Bert was employed from 1940-1949 when he and his late brother Bruce took over as owners and operators until their retirement in 1975. Friends will be received by the family at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004 on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday August 15 at 1:30 pm.
