Albert Deboer

DeBoer - Peacefully at home on Wednesday November 11, 2009 with his family by his side after a short illness. Albert De Boer of Embro in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Alida De Boer (nee Verhoef) for over 51 years. Loving father of Margaret Hutchison (Doug) and Eric De Boer (Lisa). Proud and loving grandfather of Nickolaus and Ashleigh De Boer. Dear brother of Sally Horinga and Audrey Howard (Ken) and brother-in-law of Helen and Alf Versaevel and Jim and Carol Verhoef. Also lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Eelke and Anna De Boer, Peter and Margaret Verhoef and by his brother-in-law Wiebe Horinga. Albert worked for Firestone Textiles for 25 years and then at Hickson Central School as a custodian for 25 years until his retirement in 2000. A proud Canadian since 1952, Albert enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid gardener. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday November 13, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service to honour Albert's life will be held at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, Lansdowne Ave., Woodstock on Saturday at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Loerts officiating. A private family interment will have taken place in the North Embro Cemetery.
