Alan Mckenzie Cullen

May 3, 1941 — December 18, 2009

CULLEN - Alan McKenzie at home on Friday December, 18th 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, in his 69th year. He leaves behind his beloved sons Andrew (Tammy Kropf) and Brad, along with their mother Shirley Cullen. Proud grandfather of Megan and Sadie. Cherished son of Betty Cullen and the late James F. Cullen. Fondly remembered by sisters Joan (Paul Childs) of Strathroy and Gina (Randy Mark) of Toronto. Predeceased by his brother Jim. Also survived by many loved aunt, uncles, nieces and nephews. Alan served on the Woodstock Fire Department for 33 years, retiring as a Captain of the Woodstock Fire Department. He was an avid hockey fan and played goalie in the Woodstock Minor Hockey system, followed by Junior B with the Owen Sound Greys, Junior A with the Windsor Bulldogs, pro hockey with the Cleveland Barons, and most recently as a member of the Simcoe Old Timers. Alan was also a long time member of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., 519-539-0004 on Tuesday December 22nd from 2:30- 4:30 and 7-9pm. Where the complete service will take place in the chapel Wednesday at 11:00am with Rev. David Duncan officiating. Cremation to follow.
