Adam grew up in Woodstock with his dad and older sister. For many years, it was the three of them and they grew to be a strong, unbreakable triangle. To everyone who knew him, he touched their life in such a positive way. Everyone liked him. Those who were fortunate enough to be his friend (and he has a lot) felt like family. That's just the kind of love and friendship Adam gave.
In school, he was known as a very athletic, smart, well-mannered man. He formed lifelong friendships and those friends became part of his family. He is the guy that you will go out with and do fun, stupid shit with, just knowing you’ll always have a good time with him. There is not enough time in a week to tell all the stories of the fun and crazy adventures one had with Adam. Even a bad day wasn’t a bad day with Adam. He was that good at looking at the bright side.
He loved sports. He played soccer, volleyball, tennis, and golf. As a teen, he played soccer every year and made a lot of strong friendships through sports. When he grew up and had his own kids, he helped coach his daughter’s soccer team. He taught his kids to play all manner of sports.
He loved poker and chess and was good at both and enjoyed playing board games. Recently, he started making his own craft beer and would share it with family and friends. He also really loved backcountry camping, canoeing, and portaging. Every year, he went camping with his family and made the best camp fires, taking pride in how well he could keep a fire going.
Adam was a loving son-in-law to Bill and Nancy and dear brother-in-law to Willy and the late Tommy and sister-in-law Michelle. He made frequent visits to their family home to drink tea and chat and was always ready to partake in the families' favourite hobby of canoeing down the Grand River.
He went to school for Kinesiology at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario; and worked in the healthcare sector, including the Woodstock Hospital, the Bonnie Brae long-term care home and finally as a rehabilitation case manager.
He married his high school sweetheart, Becky. He called her his soul mate and loved her with his whole heart. She is the love of his life. He has three beautiful children, Brianne, 7, Bryson, 4 and Nolan 16 months. He loved his kids so much. He would get on the floor and play Barbies with his daughter, then floor hockey with his son, then hold his youngest and airplane him around the room. His sister’s kids even look to him as their dad with Lily saying: “you’re the most awesome dad for everyone.” Family meant everything to him and he did everything for family.
