Condolence From: Dave Clark
Condolence: Lila, Stephen, David and families.

I was saddened to hear of Kurt's passing. I hope you will find comfort in fond memories and the heartfelt thoughts of family and friends.

Kurt was a dear friend. His Cheshire Cat grin, sense of humour and mischievousness, big laugh and above all his big heart, thoughtfulness, kindness and caring will be remembered by all who had the pleasure to know him.

My condolences

Dave Clark

Condolence: I see there is already reference in another comment to the "famous" canoe trip that Kurt and I took 25 years ago. Kurt was a lot of fun and there was no one I would have preferred to have "gone down the river"with even if it ended in spectacular fashion. But the biggest impact that Kurt had on me was his professionalism and his pride in his work. I have never related this before, but when I worked with Kurt I was young and thought I was pretty hot stuff. I gave him a report to look over before passing it up the line thinking he would be blown away by it. He told me in his sure way that it was badly done and told me exactly why. He told me because he wanted me to be better. He was 100% right and I have carried that conversation with me for the last 25 years. Often is the time I have asked myself when I did my work, if it would have passed the professionalism test that Kurt would have required of me. Thank you Kurt for having had such an impact on me even if you never knew it. I was lucky to have known you my fellow coureurs de bois.

Condolence: Hello Lila and family, I was very saddened to see notice of Kurts’ passing. I was privileged to know him first through the ingersoll curling club and then later as a customer of Carpet One. He was a very kind and enjoyable person to talk to and to compete against. Words can never comfort enough but I wish for you Gods’ strength in this time of sorrow. Truly Kurt was a special man. Please accept my most sincere condolences.

Condolence: We met Kurt and Lila when they joined the Ingersoll Curling Club. Funny, gracious and oh so friendly. These were a couple meant to share their lives together and show others how to have a great time while always including everyone in their zest for life and not just a few shenanigans.
I was fortunate to travel to Chicago with Kurt not that long after his transplant. A number of us on the trip were somewhat nervous as to how well he would be able to handle the rigours of travel and engaging in the frivolity of the trip. He set us straight. He told us that every day he was given was a treasure he relished. Under no condition were we to be concerned for him. He was already enjoying borrowed time.
He was able to live his life to the fullest each day and his transplant brought him and his family an extended life that squeezed the joy out of each day. Privilege was having known him.
Our condolences to Lila and all of the family. Rest In Peace our friend.
Glen and Laurie Lang

Condolence: Dear Lila. We offer our most sincere condolences to you and your family. We have the utmost respect for Kurt and his health battle of the last 20 + years. He was a real trooper for sure. Our fondest memory of you two was at our Y2K New Year's Eve party in Calgary on 31 December 1999, when the dress code was "something in the last 100 years". You two showed up in your wedding gown and tuxedo. We were all flabbergasted (and a bit jealous) that your wedding dress still fit you like a glove. I attach a photo of you two. It was a very fun evening and unfortunately, because of distances where we all lived, the last time we saw Kurt. We send our love and may all your great memories of the many wonderful years together support you in the months and years to come. David & Huguette Monroe

Condolence: Dear Lila and Family, please accept my love and sympathies at this sad time. I remember going to the Canadian Transplant Games in Quebec City and meeting both of you. The acceptance, the love and wonderful support was fabulous!!! Kurt would laugh and tell us "rookies" to enjoy and have fun and just follow the crowd! But he would point (literally) and walk the way! God Bless each of you.
