Relay for Life
The Relay for Life, which is run by the Canadian Cancer Society, is a 12 hour event where teams get together, raise funds and walk throughout the night in support of all those who are fighting cancer and who have lost their battle with cancer. This event is sponsored by several businesses and individuals throughout the Woodstock community.
During the Relay For Life, there are two main events that take place. The Survivor's Lap which is a moving moment for all to share with those who are fighting and have survived cancer. The Luminary Ceremony takes place at dusk with individuals lighting candles in memory of those with cancer as well as in remembrance of the loved ones lost.
